Regardless of one's political views, it can be agreed upon by most that Jack Layton was inspiring to young Canadians and looked upon us to shape the future. His altruistic values aligned with those of Students for Medicare, and encouraged the youth in Canada to be generous to one another.

I thought his letter was a good starting point for the forum, and a way for us to remember him and think about how we can incorporate his messages into our future endeavours. His section dedicated to young Canadian's likely resonates with us all. As a young Canadian, I was always inspired by his passion, leadership and ideals. Even in his last days he was a strong and courageous leader. His final letter was so moving that I had goosebumps while reading it and shed tears. For him to take time in his final days to send such beautiful messages to Canada showed his dedication to our country.

Let his passion for justice not be forgotten, and let's aspire to achieve the Canada he envisioned.
